Uhm, who?

This is where you get to creep on me. But only when I update this with actual information. :)

As stated in my “original post,” this is where you get to creep on me (and this is the update/post that makes it possible).

So, your name is Karen huh?

Yes, my name is Karen (as given by my parents who named me after one of my mother’s close friends). Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, raised in Arlington (Dallas-Fort Worth), Texas, and experiencing life through various locations (such as undergraduate college in Atlanta, Georgia, and frequent visits back to the home land, Taiwan, plus the occasional visits to other places). I already graduated Emory and am currently living in Austin, Texas, working and waiting for graduate school admission.

Life’s greatest question… maybe.

What do I do and what do I want to do? As of now, I’m currently working as a Registered Behavior Technician (well, kinda) applying behavior therapy to children with autism. Mostly this is my way of not completely depending on my parent’s while I wait for graduate school responses for admission this Fall into a Communication Disorders/Speech Language Pathology program. Work and an online course are all that occupy my typical time. Thus, I’ve splurged a little and vacationed a bit more than my bank account appreciates.

Tell me more about you’re oh so interesting self!

If you know me, you know I’m realistic, fairly literal, and fairly practical, and if you didn’t know me, you now know that I’m those things since I just told you I am. I have a distaste to disgust for cilantro and onions (of all sorts, from the small little green ones that some places love to garnish everything with, to the real ones that come sizzling in a burger) which vary depending on how prominent it is. I can be quite nerdy, with my anime/manga and what nots, and probably the easiest way to connect with me is through music, for I love music in all its glory and beauty. I am capable of conversing in Mandarin Chinese on a beginner to intermediate level (this doesn’t include reading/writing), and clearly I speak (and know) English.

I’m (kinda) sarcastic, pretty down to earth, generally considered mature though sometimes somewhat silly, and best remembered for my dimples (probably). Mostly a self-motivator, I am a natural night owl. I’ve recently had some issues with insomnia (much of it probably due to my own sleeping habits), which just adds to my seemingly ever failing ability to remember things. I like laughing and positive attitudes. I’m not a huge fan of horror, but if you’re in need of someone to watch a scary movie (and you can’t find someone), then I can be that person. I love fruits, except for grapefruit, and my favorite is Fuji apples. If you couldn’t tell already, I really like food (and eating). If you’re not convinced, just check out my Instagram. It’s 90% food.

My hobbies include listening to music (which is more than just a hobby and more like a lifestyle), snowboarding (when I get a chance to), playing puzzles/games, reading/watching manga/anime, reading books, creating designs, exercising/running (kind of), and dancing (mostly just in my room, but occasionally in public too). I love sleeping, I get really into movies/tv shows when they’re on (and good, clearly), and I enjoy having fun, long conversations. I have my judgments (as humans all do), but that doesn’t necessarily affect exactly how I act towards you. I’m pretty patient, and I’m usually always friendly (unless you annoy me, then you’re screwed). Oh, and if you never notice in my posts, I ramble. Read my disclaimer.

I like meeting new people and making new friends, so as long as you’re not a super creeper with a hidden agenda, crazy, or really stupid/annoying, more than likely we can become friends. :)

I can’t wait to learn more about this mysterious woman blogger. I’m gonna go get my bag of cilantro and enjoy the read.
